‘Make Dreams Real’ – END POLIO NOW!

Welcome Lisa and Rex!

At our last meeting, we inducted two new Rotarians.  Please welcome Lisa Jewett (sponsor – Dan Weedin) and Rex Hankins (sponsor Todd Hankins).  Please make them welcome and help show them the ropes as they learn more about us and Rotary.

What’s happening this week…Mystery Rotarian

Sorry that I haven’t posted in awhile.  I just got back from my annual golf trip with my buddies.  This year, we were in hot Boise, ID.  It took me all yesterday to kind of catch up.

My first board meeting was yesterday morning and the board approved a 2008-09 budget.  Now it goes to the Foundation board to ratify.  We should have a copy for all members to view very shortly.

If you missed last Fridays meeting you missed a fun one.  We turned a boring club assembly into a Rotary Rocks party.  We also introduced our first “Mystery Rotarian” (see above).  Can you guess who it is?

Special thanks to Walt Washington for being willing to go first and play along.  If you know Walt, you know he is all to anxious to be part of the fun!

Yours in Rotary,

Rotary Rocks Assembly on Friday

I hate the term “Club Assembly”.  I used my President prerogative to change the name to “Rotary Rocks”.  Sounds better, huh?

Here’s what you can expect at the meeting…

  • You will get an introduction to our new board members, particularly our Vocational, International, Community Service, and Club Service.  They will share a brief vision for their committees this year.
  • We will be inducting another new member – Lisa Jewett.  Please make her feel welcome and introduce yourself to her.
  • You will hear my vision for the year.  Many of you have heard my club theme, “Unleash Your Potential.”  You will be introduced to new RI President DK Lee and his theme, “Make Dreams Real”.
  • You will be asked for your input, suggestions, and goasl for the coming year.  This is our club and we share many of the same goals.  Let’s talk about them.

I look forward to the year and look forward to seeing you at our meeting on Friday.
